Music

Our main aim is that our children derive enjoyment and satisfaction from making music. They do this by acquiring the skills to perform and compose, and by listening to and appraising music from a wide range of age, culture and tradition.

Two specialist music teachers come into school weekly to teach children on a range of instruments from guitar and keyboard to saxophone and flute.  School have instruments available to loan out to children.

We also have a school choir that perform at events in the community and wider area.

Guitar Teacher – Mr Dabner

I am a qualified professional Guitar Teacher.  I have over 17 years experience working in independent primary and secondary schools in Lincolnshire, Rutland and Cambridgeshire, schools such as Brooke Hill in Oakham,Copthill in Uffington and Saint John Fisher in Peterborough.

I enjoy my work, helping each individual student reach their goals weather this is taking a grade or learning a new song I love sharing the subject I enjoy and the best way to do that is to teach.

I am an Associate of the London College Of Music having taken a Diploma in teaching the Electric Guitar.

Piano, Flute, Saxaphone, Clarinet Teacher – Mr Aughton

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Jonathan Aughton, and I teach piano, saxophone, clarinet and flute. I have taught music for the past 15 years, both in schools and privately at home in Castle Bytham.

I enjoy teaching music and watching children develop new skills and a love for music. I encourage children to explore different instruments and play for both enjoyment and personal development.
