This section of our website is to provide parents with key information about the inclusive practice within the Bythams Primary School. This includes areas such as special educational needs and how we support children with special educational needs within our school. We hope this information is useful, but please contact the class teacher, SENCo or Head teacher should you have any questions.
What special educational needs are?
Some children have needs or disabilities that affect their ability to learn. For example:
- behavioural/social (eg difficulty making friends)
- reading and writing (eg dyslexia)
- understanding things
- concentrating (eg Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
- physical needs or impairments
Who to talk to if your child has special educational needs
If you think your child may have special educational needs, contact the ‘SEN coordinator’, or ‘SENCO’, at the Bythams Primary School this is Mr Clarke, Head Teacher .

Bythams Primary School SEND local offer - The local offer outlines all services available to support disabled children and children with SEN and their families. This information will set out what is normally available in schools to help children with SEN as well as the options available to support families who need additional help to care for their child.
The Bythams Primary School is extremely inclusive and has very experienced staff, who are equipped to support children with a variety of medical and educational needs.
