Inclusion

This section of our website is to provide parents with key information about the inclusive practice within the Bythams Primary School. This includes areas such as special educational needs and how we support children with special educational needs within our school. We hope this information is useful, but please contact the class teacher, SENCo or Head teacher should you have any questions.

What special educational needs are?

Some children have needs or disabilities that affect their ability to learn. For example:

  • behavioural/social (eg difficulty making friends)
  • reading and writing (eg dyslexia)
  • understanding things
  • concentrating (eg Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • physical needs or impairments

Who to talk to if your child has special educational needs

If you think your child may have special educational needs, contact the ‘SEN coordinator’, or ‘SENCO’, at the Bythams Primary School this is Mr Clarke, Head Teacher .

Contact your local Liaise Service for impartial advice about special educational needs.
